Events Marketing and Content Marketing Coordinator

Polaris MEP is Rhode Island’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership center, a non-profit consultancy whose mission is to help RI manufacturers stay competitive, transform, and grow.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Coordinator to support our communications efforts with and on behalf of the state’s manufacturing sector.

A strong emphasis is on planning and executing events that align with Polaris MEP’s business and revenue goals. The ideal candidate also will have experience and talent creating content that promotes those events, the MEP Center’s services, and the manufacturing industry as a whole. Your contributions will help us expand our reach and generate more positive impacts.

 

Job Type:

This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week for one year. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some nights and weekends. We currently leverage a hybrid approach, with some days remote from home and others in person at the office or a client/event location.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support, plan and deliver fully integrated events that support strategic objectives including revenue, brand awareness, thought leadership and educational value
  • Coordinate internal ane external resources needed to execute a growing annual events calendar; look for opportunities to improve or create a scalable system for events operations which increases the operational capacity
  • Manage registration, coordination, follow up and communication with attendees/ speakers/ sponsors/ partners
  • Coordinate outside services including food, graphics, signage, venue logistics and more
  • Event onsite marketing including set-up & dismantling, staffing table, social media, photography
  • Plan and implement corresponding pre- and post-event business development programs
  • Take accountability for data entry & data hygiene related to events and follow-up activity
  • Assist with developing and managing content that generates brand awareness, communicates USPs specific to Polaris MEP, drives lead capture and pushes prospects down sales funnel
  • Create, proofread, and edit copy for various marketing channels, ensuring consistent voice, including but not limited to Email; Social Media; Web (HTML skills a bonus but not required); Collaterals; Case Studies; Infographics; Ads
  • Draft written content promoting events, products, partnerships, initiatives
  • Create graphics and written content to drive traffic to the website in support of any or all of the above
  • Support design and production of video and audio assets
  • Update and maintain customer relationship management system (specifically, Salesforce)

        Desired Education & Experience:

        • 2-5 years of experience in marketing / communications
        • College degree is preferred but not required
        • Solid understanding of different marketing channels, techniques and best practices
        • Ability to take direction, absorb information and work independently and/or collaboratively
        • Love to take initiative and get the job done
        • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
        • Strong organizational and project management skills
        • Attention to detail, strong proofreading skills
        • Strong communicator, creative thinker, team player
        • Ability to produce quality content for multiple projects in a fast paced environment
        • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PPT, Excel)
        • Comfort and familiarity with marketing software / platforms (such as Google Analytics, WordPress, Pardot, Hootsuite)
        • Familiarity with CRM databases (bonus if experienced in Salesforce)
        • Passion for learning and tackling new challenges
        • Design skills/experience a plus; familiarity with design software (such as the Adobe Suite and Canva) a plus

         

        Note: position requires some lifting of event- and office-related supplies (up to 25lb).
