The URI Research Foundation oversees commercialization of protected intellectual property, and the development of business relationships with corporate and government partners for the University of Rhode Island. These commercialization activities advance Rhode Island’s economy while improving society and human lives.
The Chief Business Development Officer at The URI Research Foundation (URIRF) is a new position in our rapidly growing organization. URIRF is looking for a motivated business development officer to develop and implement growth strategies for the achievement of mission and revenue goals.

Candidates should have the right blend of analytical talent and business know-how. Successful applicants should be team players who not only understand how to identify a new opportunity, but also know what it takes to lead a team forward and realize that opportunity. We are especially looking for someone with great communication skills, prior experience with new company start-ups in the science and engineering sectors, demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to represent the foundation as an officer of the organization. The successful candidate will be routinely interacting with a wide variety of corporate partners, university faculty and students, and government agencies.
