Corrective Action Workshop

  • February 14, 2019
    8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Did You Know?

ISO 9001-2015 recognizes that Corrective Action Requests (CARs) are actually a form of Continuous Improvement and, thus, should be seen as opportunities rather than burdens.

Supervisors and Managers usually consider the work put into a CAR review to be “not part of my job” resulting in most companies either performing superficial Corrective Action reviews (that result in recurrences of the nonconformity) or putting off the work (that results in ISO audit findings). With the right tools, methodology, and mindset, CAR implementation efficiency and effectiveness will be significantly improved.

  • Determine when to initiate formal corrective action, and when not to.
  • Write clear and actionable problem statements.
  • Review sample CAR’s for best practices or potential weaknesses.
  • Learn how to use a team approach to CAR’s.
  • Use various tools to perform process-based root cause analysis.
  • Develop detailed actions to contain and prevent the problem.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the participant’s organization that can be acted upon after the course.

What to Expect

The group will discuss specific examples of what can happen when companies fail to adopt the appropriate CAR mindset and methodology including increased risk exposure to, products, processes, and employees.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop would benefit Quality, Production, Purchasing, and Engineering staff who would be potential owners or contributors to a Corrective Action.
