[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello, D-Cranston, told 450 people at the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association annual meeting on Wednesday that a requested $750,000 appropriation for the Polaris Manufacturing Extension Partnership is “probably more likely to occur” in the state budget because of increased state revenue estimates that were recently reported.
He said the $750,000 is matched with federal funds.
Polaris, formerly known as the Rhode Island Manufacturing Extension Service, operates as a unit of the University of Rhode Island Research Foundation.
Robert Nangle, RIMA chairman, told the crowd of manufacturers who gathered at Twin River, in Lincoln:
