Event Aims to Connect Rhode Island Manufacturers to Increase Business
PROVIDENCE, RI – Polaris MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) has joined forces with Rhode Island Manufacturers Association (RIMA), to bring the state’s manufacturing community together at the first Rhode Island Manufacturing B2B. The event will be held in conjunction with the “DoD Northeast Regional Council Training & Matchmaking” event presented by Rhode Island PTAC and will occur on March 23rd at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, RI.
“There are signs of localized manufacturing changing the industry. Partnering with local suppliers can shorten delivery times and be cost competitive to make a manufacturer more agile and responsive to customer demand,” said Christian Cowan, Polaris MEP’s Center Director. “The RI Manufacturing B2B event embraces that idea by connecting the state’s multi-disciplined manufacturing community to augment supply chains, foster partnerships and spur growth.”
Registration to exhibit at the event, made possible by a CommerceRI Cluster Grant, is free and open to Rhode Island Manufacturers only.
“We often hear that manufacturers have limited opportunities to network and understand what others are up to around the state,” said David Chenevert, Interim Executive Director of RIMA. “We think that this event, which will exclusively feature Rhode Island manufacturers, is a perfect solution.”
Exhibiting manufactures will be able to showcase their products and market their solutions to their peers over a 3 hour period, which concludes with a reception. Each will be provided with a 6 foot table and up to two attendees, one to promote their solutions and one to investigate the others in attendance.
Space is limited and the deadline to register is February 24th, so Polaris MEP and RIMA encourage those who want to register, to do it as soon as possible.
The RI Manufacturing B2B will occur on the second day of the 2017 DoD Northeast Regional Council Training & Matchmaking Event. Manufacturers are encouraged to participate in that event as well to join over 300 plus small businesses, government agencies and prime contractors at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island on March 22 & 23, 2017.
