Marketing and Communications Manager

This position will increase awareness of organization wide programming by developing a tactical marketing strategy and executing effective communication and public relations programs to grow the organization’s pipeline. This includes identifying and implementing initiatives to drive customer acquisition/ retention and increase community engagement.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and evolve a data-informed tactical marketing strategy that builds awareness of the organization’s value and services for the manufacturing and technology industries within and near Rhode Island.
  • Execute the appropriate tactics to effectively generate qualified leads and increase customer conversions.
    • Manage marketing communications including content creation for websites, e-blasts, and social media plus preparation of press releases, datasheets, presentations, and white papers.
    • Interface daily with teammates to develop plans for events, such as workshops and webinars, and services and bring them to a successful launch.
    • Nurture a strong industry network that aids in the identification of new service needs.
  • Assist with the configuration and management of the organization’s CRM (Salesforce) system through implementation of best practices in data management to optimize sales, marketing, and customer data analysis and segmentation processes.
  • Represent organization at promotional events, as needed.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Preferred BS/BA degree in Marketing or other business disciplines.
  • 10 – 15 years in product marketing role in a non-profit, private, service or academic environment.
  • Strong project management and execution skills in order to both manage external contractors and implement changes needed in a small team environment including content or creative creation and editing.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation development, technical papers, website content development, meeting reports, etc.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in the creation of strategic new market and product development plans and actions which may include strategic plan development and execution involving implementation in websites, social media, creative content, and public relations.
  • Above average computer skills with proficiency of Microsoft productivity tools, Word Press, creative tools such as Canva and Adobe Suite products, and social media platforms desired.
  • Working Knowledge of Salesforce and Pardot are recommended.
  • Ability to cultivate productive relationships with key customers.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast-moving organization with the ability to deliver results on short timeframes.
  • Ability to bring energy, passion and a proactive, aggressive approach to marketing initiatives.
