Rhode Island Manufacturing Day 2022 logoOctober is Manufacturing Month in Rhode Island, and leaders from the sector will be joined by partners and legislators for a unique Manufacturing Day event, RI’s Future in the Making, on October 4. The future-focused program for the day has two sections, one for industry and the second a career exploration event for high schoolers.

WHEN:         Tuesday, October 4, 2022

730am to 930am – Manufacturing Month Kick-off for industry leaders

10am to 12pm – MFGDay Career Experience for 8th, 9th and 12th graders

WHERE:         Farm Fresh Rhode Island

10 Sims Avenue, Providence, RI

WHAT:          “RI’s Future in the Making,” a Manufacturing Day (MFGDay) event that spotlights the importance of manufacturing as an economic driver in Rhode Island and promotes the good-paying, purpose-filled careers available to tomorrow’s workforce.

  • Release of the State of RI Manufacturing report, the first comprehensive economic analysis of the sector
  • Preview of two new demand-driven initiatives, including the recently-awarded Defense Manufacturing Communities grant that will build strength through cyber resiliency and automation
  • Proclamation of October as Rhode Island Manufacturing Month
  • Interactive career experience “stations” that encourage students to explore what’s #MadeInRI and learn how those products are made. Students will be able to program a cobot, see demonstrations of jewelry making and food processing, guide high-tech measuring equipment in 3D scanning, and more.
