Polaris MEP was honored to have been awarded the GWB Innovation Award and a citation from Governor Gina Raimondo at the Governor’s Workforce Board’s annual meeting on May 21, 2015. Polaris MEP’s Ruth Gobeille was on hand to accept the award and citation. A GWB Innovation Award and Governor’s citation was also given to Polaris MEP partner, the Rhode Island Manufacturing Association (RIMA).
“The GWB Innovation Award is presented annually to a business or organization that has demonstrated significant commitment, creativity, and impact in developing workforce education and training programs that meet the needs of RI businesses and workers,” said Rick Brooks, Executive Director Governor’s Workforce Board.
“This year’s GWB Innovation Award was presented to Polaris MEP and the RI Manufacturers’ Association, who have led the Governor’s Workforce Board’s Manufacturing Industry Partnership since July, 2012,” said Brooks. “In less than three years, Polaris MEP and RIMA have dramatically raised the profile of Rhode Island’s manufacturing sector, have launched numerous new initiatives to increase awareness of the many and varied career opportunities in manufacturing, and have increased the capacity of education and training providers to prepare current and future workers for manufacturing careers.”
