Join us for a virtual presentation on the results of the demonstration pilot conducted by SphereGen/The Impact Group on the use and implementation of augmented reality in manufacturing.Augmented Reality is the overlaying of digital content into the physical environment. Specifically, to manufacturing, this can include any type of virtual parts, data, photos, videos, and work instructions. These assets can be transposed on to a machine in the real world for easier training and troubleshooting through a device such as a phone or headset.

Our engagement with CCAT is specific to HoloLens 2 which is an advanced augmented reality headset created by Microsoft. HoloLens 2 has comprehensive voice recognition, gesture recognition and is a hands-free heads-up display.

This session will be recorded and made available on-demand.

Learning Objectives:

Learn how augmented reality can:
• Expedite training and onboarding
• Standardize work and procedures for employees
• Improve remote troubleshooting
• Reduce travel to physical locations with virtual tools

NERDIC INDUSTRY 4.0 READINESS WORKSHOPS

The New England Regional Defense Industry Collaboration (NERDIC) will deliver a series of Industry 4.0 Readiness workshops and demonstrations to showcase how emerging technologies can be used to help optimize manufacturing processes in the New England defense manufacturing supply chain.

Each session explores a different technology, including generative design, additive manufacturing, and augmented reality. The overall aim is to help increase capability and competitiveness for the region’s defense manufacturers. For more information, please visit ccat.us/NERDIC.
