Kaizen means continuous improvement. In this hands-on session at Town Farm Tonics, you’ll step inside a real production environment and learn practical tools to:
- Identify and eliminate waste in your production process
- Improve flow and efficiency in your kitchen or facility
- Reduce costs without cutting quality
- Apply lean manufacturing techniques that make scaling easier
You’ll walk away with strategies you can put into practice right away to save time, space, and money.
About Grow Together RI
This workshop is part of Grow Together RI, a statewide initiative led by Hope & Main with partners across the food system. Our goal is to strengthen Rhode Island’s mid-tier value chain and regional food system by:
- Supporting food makers and processors to become more efficient and competitive
- Helping farmers, ranchers, and fishers add value to their products and connect with new markets
- Building stronger supplier relationships between local producers and 130+ Hope & Main businesses
- Preparing for the launch of Hope & Main’s West End Kitchens in Providence, designed to meet growing demand for local, value-added products

There is no charge for this workshop. It is a great opportunity to participate through the Grow Together RI grant.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Polaris MEP Project Manager Nathan A. Bonds has over 20 years of manufacturing experience in a wide variety of industries. Since joining Polaris MEP, he has served as trusted advisor to more than 75 food manufacturers in Rhode Island, helping them enjoy reduced costs, increased sales and less stress as they scaled their businesses sustainably.
Grow Together RI is generously funded by a grant from the USDA Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP). Polaris MEP receives support from the U.S. Department of Commerce through the NIST Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
In order to justify continued funding for these programs and to show the effectiveness of federal investments, participants are asked to provide impact data and assessment. You’ll be asked for feedback through a short online survey within 1-3 days of this program and again at 6-12 months after the course. You also may be asked for impact estimates through an impartial third-party survey firm.
