The Narragansett Bay Campus is a part of the URI Master Plan to modernize and expand the facilities that play a critical role in preparing the next generation of oceanographers, ocean engineers, and ocean technology innovators for success. It includes an ocean robotics laboratory, a more capable pier from which to launch research vessels, and an Ocean Technology Center which hosts several URI Research Foundation initiatives — Grow Blue and RISE-UP.
The URI Research Foundation is the parent company of Polaris MEP and 401 Tech Bridge. There are already several innovative early stage manufacturers working from the Ocean Technology Center!
