Bring Your Students to this Interactive, Engaging Exploration of Careers Making What Matters
In 2024, Polaris MEP and the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association will once again celebrate Manufacturing Month with an event that offers students a “taste test” of manufacturing careers.
Please commit your school to participating! Younger students may find the experience influences their learning pathways. Seniors (and your team) will learn more about post-HS opportunities.
WHAT:
A highly interactive and fun career event! Stations throughout the Providence venue will give students a chance to
• code a cobot,
• begin reverse engineering a part with 3D scanning technology,
• solve a puzzle using Lean thinking,
• “paint” fabricated metal via VR goggles,
• build a tower by applying standard decision-making processes,
• and more.
WHEN:
Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Buses will drop off students in time slots beginning at 7:30am for a 2-3 hour long experience. Each bus will be given a designated time window upon registration.

LOAD-IN/PARK:
School Buses can drop students off at the entrance on Sims Ave. They can then park on Sims (not blocking loading-zone) or in the parking lot off Kinsley.

Polaris MEP is the state’s non-profit Manufacturing Extension Partnership center, mission-driven to expand the career opportunities the sector offers to Rhode Islanders.
