Katie Owens joined Polaris MEP in 2024 bringing nearly a decade of experience in workforce development, education, and community engagement. Throughout her career, Katie has worked with hundreds of Rhode Islanders in pursuing career growth and economic mobility. Katie led workforce training initiatives in the healthcare field for three years at CCRI’s Division of Workforce Partnerships, where she oversaw logistical operations, employer and community partnerships, and overall student success. Her programs graduated over 200 students per year and grew annually as a result of strong partnerships and efficient operational management. Katie is excited to bring her skills and experience to her role as Pathway Home Operations Manager to continue empowering individuals through education and career advancement, and to help strengthen Rhode Island’s economy by building a strong and resilient workforce. Katie holds an M.S. in Public Policy and Human Development from Maastricht University and UNU-MERIT, an economic research institute focused on innovation and technology for sustainable development. Katie holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Italian from the University of Rhode Island, where she co-founded the URI Chapter of Phi Sigma Tau National Philosophy Honor Society and served as President of the Philosophy Club for two years. She lives in West Warwick with her partner and two cats, where she enjoys playing piano and spending time in nature.
