RI’s Future In The Making: Manufacturing Day 2022

A Unique Event with Insights for Industry AND a Pipeline-Building Program Engaging the Next Generation of Ocean State Makers

On Onctober 4, 2022, Polaris MEP and the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association (RIMA) hosted a two-part Manufacturing Day 2022 event.

In the first part of the program, manufacturing industry leaders,  ecosystem partners, state representatives and media heard the findings of Polaris MEP’s first-ever “State of RI Manufacturing Study.”

The session also kicked off Manufacturing Month in the Ocean State with a proclamation from elected officials.

After this forum, business leaders left and a number of school buses arrived bringing 8th, 9th and 12th grade students  for a “taste test” of manufacturing careers.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS:

Polaris MEP is the state’s non-profit Manufacturing Extension Partnership center, mission-driven to expand the career opportunities the sector offers to Rhode Islanders.

The mission of the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association is to be the unified voice of the Ocean State’s 1,400 manufacturers. We advocate at the federal, state, and local levels for sensible policy solutions that strengthen manufacturing, and serve as a bridge connecting our members with the resources they need to compete and grow.
