Rhode Island Heat Treating Corp. provides heat treating services to the automotive, die-striking, medical, electronics and machine tool industries. They provide superior heat-treating capability in pressure quenching, oil quenching and surface enhancement, and are well known for providing reliable and consistent processing of customers’ work.  

Situation

Rhode Island Heat Treating was looking to get ISO 9001:2015 certified to document their quality to existing clients and expand their market. They required training on quality management systems, as well as an internal audit to make sure they were up to ISO 9001:2015 standards. They also needed continuous support to maintain their ISO 9001:2015 certification in the future.

Results

RI Heat Treating brought in Polaris MEP to help lead, train, coordinate and facilitate the preparation for ISO 9001:2016 registration. Polaris MEP assisted with process and documentation improvements to align with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, now with a heavier focus on risk.  Polaris MEP helped lead, train, coordinate and facilitate the Internal Audit of their system against the requirements for ISO 9001:2015 to maintain their registration. lmpacts, measures and outcomes from project initiatives were developed jointly, with progress communicated on a frequent, formal and regular basis.

Polaris MEP leveraged their decades of QMS expertise and the knowledge to fully support project implementation to ensure business sustainability and growth. As a result, the company was certified for ISO 9001:2015 and had access to continued support in the future.
