Company Profile

Taco Comfort Solutions was approaching its 100th anniversary. Growing from a local pump company to a global brand based in Rhode Island, Taco has production, sales and distribution operations around the world – in Europe, the Middle East and in Asia. The company’s vision is to promote success for their family of employees, customers, partners, and communities globally by being the easiest company to do business with while providing innovative and dependable HVAC, plumbing, and industrial solutions.

Taco Comfort Solutions provides opportunity, growth, and support to all members of the Taco Family around the world. Through a persistent focus on exceeding customer expectations, they strive to be the first choice for dependable, high-efficiency heating, cooling, behind-the-wall plumbing, and fluid control solutions that help their customers save money, energy, and resources while maximizing their comfort and productivity.

Situation

Taco Comfort Solutions planned to branch out into new industries for heating-cooling-plumbing products and also into brand new products outside of their core area of hydronics. The company would grow their business from a platform as solutions provider.

The company needed to transition from ISO 9001-2008 to ISO 9001:2015 in order to maintain compliance and support growth.

Solution

Polaris MEP was an “extra set of eyes” for the highly qualified internal team of ISO drivers.

Polaris MEP’s Project Manager helped lead, train, coordinate and facilitate the preparation for ISO 9001:2015 registration with management and non-management personnel. Nine internal leaders were trained over the course of the project.

Polaris MEP and the company jointly developed measures and outcomes from the ISO quality management system initiatives. They communicated progress on a frequent, formal and regular basis.

Taco Comfort Solutions leveraged incumbent worker training grants from the state of Rhode Island, making this an event better value for the Rhode Island manufacturing leader.
