Polaris MEP is part of a coalition of groups working to turn “blue into the new green” in the Ocean State, as reported by ecoRI News’ Grace Kelly.

Kelly writes that a variety of organizations that fall within the blue economy, such as Rhode Island Marine Trade Association, the Rhode Island Hospitality Association, Polaris MEP, and the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance, have recently banded together.

‘Rhode Island’s blue economy, which the report defines as “the economic sectors with a direct or indirect link to Rhode Island’s coasts and ocean — defense, marine trades, tourism and recreation, fisheries, aquaculture, ports and shipping, and offshore renewable energy” — has a boatload of potential.’

We couldn’t agree more.
