Polaris MEP & JARC RI Industry Advisory members are invited to meet community Partners while learning about the Workforce Programs and Pipelines available! 

Understanding where the gaps in the manufacturing industry are is imperative to the missions of Polaris MEP and JARC RI. We invite you to be a part of our Industry Advisory Council so we can hear directly from you what’s working and what needs work when it comes to workforce.

8:45am – 9:00am | CNC Machinist Track – Program Updates and Highlights      

  • Overview of Curriculum and Program Design
  • Updates and Highlights – Including Certifications
  • Outplacement – Candidates and Resumes
  • Polaris CNC Programming – CCRI, Women’s Prison complement the Pipe Line; Fair Chance Hiring

9:00am – 9:15am | Machine Maintenance Technicians

9:15am – 9:45am  | Robotics & GMAW                                              

  • How do Industry Partners use Robotic Technologies, including Automated Processes and PLC’s? (Robotic Welders, CNC FMS, Fabrication, Assembly, Packaging?)
  • Where are the Skills Gaps? Identify skills sets, occupations and career paths. Thoughts on industry credentials.
  • Preliminary thoughts on equipment, software, etc.
  • Can we form a working group that will work support Guy and Miles as we develop the curricula and training manual?
  • Do IAC members have skills gaps in welding processes, including GMAW, SMAW, etc.?
  • Would IAC be open to an overview of our GMAW Welder Track in CMP (Chicago, Baltimore)?
  • Should we consider developing a GMAW Welder Track for CMP in RI?
