Polaris MEP Project Manager Ted Kennedy has 35 years of experience within Operations and Engineering in the metalworking, toy manufacturing, and automotive manufacturing industries. He is a Lean leader with expertise in streamlining manufacturing, warehouse/distribution, retail packaging, and office processes. Ted’s experience as a partner in two startup companies (a custom-design software company and a remanufacturer of laser printer cartridges) give him strong insights into the challenges faced by Polaris MEP clients looking to scale. As Manager of Industrial Engineering at Stoneridge, Inc., Ted implemented a labor standards system to track costs and productivity in manufacturing highly engineered electrical and electronic components, modules and systems principally for the automotive market. As a Lean Champion at Stoneridge, he improved numerous manufacturing operations increasing productivity and decreasing floor space. Ted created plant layouts for new 30,000 Sq. Ft. and 120,000 Sq. Ft. buildings and modified building layouts on three other facilities consolidating manufacturing and warehouse space by 30% to 40% using Lean tools. He also helped design a bar code system for use in manufacturing and shipping which was in use for over 15 years. Ted has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
